Solicitor. Corporate and commercial law. The practitioner behind The Lawyer's Prompt — written for solicitors who want to use AI properly, by one who actually does.
Most guidance on AI for lawyers is written either by technologists who don't practise law, or by lawyers who don't really use the tools. Steven is in the unusual position of doing both — running a corporate and commercial caseload while using generative AI in that work, every day, since 2023.
That means the book and the skills aren't theory. They come from the actual experience of drafting with AI, reviewing with AI, writing to clients with AI — and watching it fail, confidently and fluently, often enough to know exactly where the traps are and how to build around them.
Steven's practice and writing centre on the everyday legal work of small and medium businesses: business sales and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, and the governance questions that come with them. It's this hands-on commercial work that informs the practice-area guides on commercial, employment and property work.
Steven writes and speaks regularly on AI in legal practice, with a particular focus on doing it in a way that holds up to professional scrutiny — the verification standard set in Ayinde v Haringey and the obligations under the SRA Code. Speaking engagements, recorded sessions and articles will be collected here.
